Had an amazing break the cottage exceeded our expectations the location was perfect for us as we enjoy the quiet. Neil and Hedda were very helpful and nothing was an issue to them. Mr. H
Lovely relaxing stay half term week. Lovely quiet cottage in a beautiful area, not too far from Kirkby Lonsdale but far enough off the beaten track. No mobile signal which was perfect for us but wifi so you can Skype or FaceTime to keep in touch. Lovely comfortable beds, good showers and lovely bathrooms with wet room upstairs. Cosy log burner is a nice touch but the heating in the cottage keeps you toasty, floor heating downstairs and rads upstairs. The kitchen is just right and has everything to hand and you are spoilt for choice in regards to either quality ingredients or places to eat out. The owners are very on hand if you need anything and very friendly, highly recommended and I hope we visit again soon. Mr. I
We spent 11 days in this very unique comfortable cottage. Quirky handmade furniture and lovely quiet setting. Our hosts were great and made us feel at home. Some lovely walks, local towns and the Lake District right on our doorstep. Couldn't have wished for any better place to chill out and relax. Pets were welcome too! Highly recommended holiday cottage and somewhere we will return to in the not too distant future. Mr. D
The cottage was excellent with many extras provided including a dish washer and good quality kitchen equipment. It was exceptionally clean and the underfloor heating made a midwinter visit most comfortable. The owner was very welcoming which created a happy relaxed atmosphere. the location was peaceful and the views were amazing particularly when the snow fell and dressed the landscape. We were between the Lakes and North Yorkshire so had choices for walking and plenty to eat out that served good food and were dog friendly. We enjoyed our week and would like to return. Mrs. D
Had a lovely week. A great base for Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, even Lancashire. Enjoyed the cottage so much and the surrounding countryside. Looking forward to a return visit. C &B
We had an excellent stay in Yan Cottage. Really tranquil with all the animals around us. Our daughter absolutely loved it. She especially liked the baby geese. Must see restaurant Avanti in Kirkby Lonsdale (lovely food, thoughtful to children, nice enclosed garden. Hawswater Reservoir (beautiful scenery and walks) Arnside (beach town with great scones at the 'Old Bakehouse') Mr. E
Lovely, peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings, super cottage, all boxes ticked! Special welcome from Neil, Hedda and all the birds! K &L
We climbed Cat Bells and it was amazing. Tarn Howes is a great walk and real big fun. The Ingleton Waterfalls trail is great for the views. Brockhole is family friendly but quite expensive! The cottage was nice and cosy and had everything we needed. We enjoyed meeting Neil and Hedda. Cameron

Another fabulous holiday, the weather has been mixed with lots of overcast days and lots of raining at night. We have been swimming in the Lune and pond dipping, Killhope lead mine, Hadrians Wall, Chester Zoo, Bird Oswald, Grange over Sands, Pencil Museum, Hull pot (near Horton) and RSPB Leighton Moss. Eaten out at the Orange Tree (Wed. night is steak night) and the Plough. C &A

Really great little cottage based just outside Kirkby Lonsdale, perfect for my dog too. Loved the space, the pictures really don't do it justice, it looks small but it really isn't Great bedrooms too, and so peaceful and quiet, but not too far from main towns. Really enjoyed our little break and the dog loved his walks on the lanes each morning and evening. Thanks for having us!
